Redesigning a plastic-compatible component with the customer. Important here is to ensure minimum flash formation in the parting lines. 30 years of experience combined with the appropriate simulation tools ensures optimal mold design and thus excellent results.

For this component in particular, we could make use of our specialist knowledge in nozzle seats. In this case, both high-precision surface quality at the nozzle seats (0.4 mm diameter each) and  the associated core spotting must be mastered.

Material substitution of a piston made of metal with a high-performance polymer.

The challenge is to manufacture the piston in serial production with highest accuracy and surface precision. The combination of the surface with a tribologically modified special plastic as well as the corresponding mold concept allows the injection-molded component to be directly installed without additional surface treatment.

In water pumps, the fluid-immersed rotor must be bedded. Expensive graphite bearings are often used here. These are to be replaced by a  plastic solution.

The graphite bearings can be replaced by polymeric bearings. By direct injection of surrounding parts, the number of pump components can also be reduced. By using hydrodynamics, extremely low wear and friction can be achieved.

The fascinating thing about such assemblies is that the functionality of the unit can be put in the foreground, thanks to our system knowledge and focused approach to customer-supplier dealings. Only in this way can the high requirements in terms of shape and position tolerances, for example, be implemented.

Increasing demands for higher IP protection classes ensure that electronic components are additionally protected. An excellent, highly advantageous solution is to injection mold with plastic around the  parts.

Potential solutions are multi-layered and versatile, but more or less subject to constraints.

A component which can display the switching position and location of an actuating piston through an aluminum case by means of magnetic sensors.

Elaboration and calculation of a geometry which ensures that the magnet does not detach even under  changing temperatures.

Tolerances of the magnet are compensated by means of 'intelligent mold inserts'.

Possible installation errors by the workshop personnel are eliminated by the material selection, and plastic bending of the component is greatly reduced.
